Is Whole Foods 365 Chicken Perdue Chicken?

Is Whole Foods 365 Chicken Perdue Chicken? Most products in Farm Forward’s sample were processed at Perdue-owned plants, but that does not make the brands the same product.

Farm Forward, an animal-advocacy nonprofit, traced 247 365-brand raw chicken products using federal establishment numbers in its October 2026 investigation. It reported 92.3% at Perdue-owned plants. The table below lists the other plants in that sample too. A shared plant identifies a processing location, not what a bird ate, how it was raised or which wash it received. Whole Foods responded that sharing a facility does not change its 365 product standards. For your own purchase, use the establishment number on that package to identify its inspected plant.

Farm Forward’s results describe its sample, not every current 365 package. The report is an advocacy group’s investigation, not a regulator’s product-identity finding.

A shared plant is not the same product

The plant code identifies where processing occurred. It does not establish identical feed, raising conditions, ingredients or treatments across different brands.

In its response reported by the New York Post, Whole Foods said a shared processing facility does not change the standards a product must meet to be sold under 365. That is the retailer’s statement, not an independent audit of a particular package.

Keep the full establishment number, including any letter suffix, with the product name and date. Match that number to the inspected plant rather than assigning a source from the store name alone.

What this page does not answer

A plant match does not identify a wash chemical or chilling method. The separate brand-disclosure pages address those evidence limits.

Does sharing a processing plant make 365 and Perdue the same product?

No. A shared facility does not establish identical product specifications, raising conditions or processing treatments.

Does an establishment number identify the wash chemical?

No. It identifies the inspected plant. A wash method needs its own product-specific evidence.
