Brownrigg Agriculture

New Zealand cattle, lamb and cropping business with operations in Hawke’s Bay.

About: New Zealand farming business with cattle, lamb and cropping operations; the continuing company is separate from the Wagyu breeding stud sold in 2025.
Practices: The cattle programme uses winter and spring pasture, with animals either finished or sold to other finishers as seasonal conditions dictate.
Practices: The May 2024 Poukawa account describes lucerne, plantain, chicory, kale and annual grasses within a mixed grazing and cash-crop operation. These are dated farm-specific forages, not a universal cattle ration.
Sourcing: The Poukawa account describes purchased lambs identified and grouped at a central handling centre before company-truck distribution to farms. This is live-animal handling, rather than an identified slaughter plant.
